How the Crucible Works

Kit Hunger Games. Twenty five minutes. Last one standing wins.

The Crucible is a competitive kit based Hunger Games arena. You pick one of thirty custom classes, drop into a fresh map with the rest of the field, and fight to be the last one alive. Loot spawns everywhere. The Offering event drops rare gear at the center of the map halfway through. Every win puts you closer to the Saturday tournament bracket.

Core Rules

Solo, Free For All

Everyone in the match is a threat. No permanent teams. Temporary alliances happen and usually collapse before the final circle.

Kits Are Locked In

You pick your kit before the match starts. That is your loadout for the round. No swapping mid game.

Loot Everywhere

Chests spawn in structures across the map. Better gear tends to sit closer to danger. The Offering at center brings the highest tier drops.

One Life

Die and you spectate the rest of the match. Coins and XP are still awarded based on how far you made it and who you took down.

Map Shrinks Over Time

A border closes in through the match. If you camp too long the border finds you and forces the fight.

Twenty Five Minute Cap

If no single winner emerges by twenty five minutes, the game ends and the kill leader takes the round.

What actually happens

  1. Queue Up

Walk into the Crucible portal in the hub, or right click the queue sign. The match starts once enough players are ready or the queue timer expires.

  2. Pick a Kit

The kit selector opens automatically. Pick from thirty classes. Higher tier kits cost Coins to unlock but every class is competitive. Read the tooltip to see the ability.

  3. Grace Period

You drop in with a two minute grace window. Loot chests, find your position, avoid the pack. PvP is disabled until the timer hits zero.

  4. Open Combat

Grace ends. Everyone becomes a threat. Kills award Coins on the spot. The map border begins its first shrink about ten minutes in.

  5. The Offering

At the fifteen minute mark, a chest tower spawns at the center of the map filled with rare gear, enchanted apples, and high tier weapons. The bloodbath here decides most matches.

  6. Final Circle

The border closes in tight. Whoever is left fights it out in the open. Winner takes the round.

  7. Rewards

Coins, XP, and rank points get distributed by placement and kill count. Then you get sent back to the hub. Queue for another round or head to the Mosh Pit for something quick.
